NOW AVAILABLE - A NEW STYLE EXHAUST MANIFOLD FOR THE ONAN CCKB ENGINE - The original exhaust manifold installed on Fairmont motorcars powered by the Onan CCKB engine has become difficult to find. One problem with the original OEM manifold was the difficulty in finding the 1 1/4" exhaust pipe to connect the manifold to the muffler. This size is not normally available at muffler shops. We have created a new style manifold that has a 1 1/2" diameter outflow connection instead of the original 1 1/4" that will allow most muffler shop to bend an exhaust tube to the proper size to interface with most small muffler/spark arrresstor available from NAPA or other suppliers. Another issue with the CCKB has been the propensity of this engine to foul the right spark plug causing a power loss. This power loss is probably responsible for more breakdowns with CCKB cars than any other cause. The Onan B48G powered cars typically do not have this problem even though the engines are similar. Many have thought that the difference between the engines that caused the CCKB problem was the design of the exhaust manifold. In the original CCKB design, the left cylinder header ran almost straight into the exahaust pipe allowing a free gas flow with little back pressusre. The right cylinder has a "T" style connection into the left cylinder header requiring the exhaust to make a 90 degree turn and probably increasing the back pressur,e possibly caussing the plug fouling problem. The B48G has a "Y" style connection allowing equal exhaust flow from either cylinder. We suspect this design change with the later B48G engine may have been made to solve the fouling issue. Our new manifold has been designed with the B48G "Y" style junction. We are hopeful that this design change may make the CCKB cars as reliable as the B48G or Briggs powered cars by cutting down the frequency of fouled plugs.

NOW AVAILABLE - A KIT TO INSTALL A BRIGGS OR HONDA ENGINE AS A DROP IN CCKB OR B48G REPLACEMENT - Install a brand new, modern engine with electronic ignition and built in alternator for less than it would cost to overhaul a CCKB. The kit includes all necessary parts including Exhaust Manifold, Bell Housing, Flywheel Adapter & Motor Mount Plate to make a quick and easy bolt in replacement. The kit will work with a Briggs 21 or 23 hp or a Honda 20 hp.

BRIGGS & STRATTON EXTERNAL ALTERNATOR KIT - This kit is used with our Briggs Vanguard engine conversion to mount an external Alternator. It includes the Alternator Mounting Bracket, Pulley, Stub Shaft & Belt.

ALTERNATOR
- ONE WIRE - FOR CCKB & B46G It can
be difficult to troubleshoot an electrical problem in our motorcars. If
the Alternator is suspect, measure the voltage at the battery terminals
with the engine running. If it is 12 or less volts, the alternator is not
charging. Rather than determine if it is the voltage regulator or alternator,
just install this one wire alternator and eliminate the voltage regulator
forever. Just cap off the lines to the regulator and use the large wire
connected to the battery. This is a drop in replacement for the original
Motorola alternator used on the CCKB.

ONAN CCKB PARTS The listed parts are available for the CCKB engine. They are all very useful to carry as spares even if your car is running perfectly. Click on each item name to see a full size photo.

REBUILT ONAN STARTER OR ALTERNATOR The Starter is used on the CCKB and the Alternator can be used on the CCKB or B48G. These are freshly rebuilt components. You must turn in your old starter or alternator in acceptable condition as a core.

CCKB CARBURETOR - If your CCKB does not idle or run properly, it is likely that the carburetor is worn out. We have found that most Onan CCKB powered motor cars still have the original carburetor installed and the great majority are mechanically worn out beyond the point that a rebuild kit will correct the problem. The only solution is replacement. If you've already had your carburetor overhauled and still have problems, a new one may be the solution. We have found a source that allows us to sell carbs at well below the OEM price.

CLUTCH PLATES FOR FAIRMONT CARS - These are exact replacements for the original. Many reproductions that have been available did not fit properly, but these do. The Driven Plate is pictured on the left and the Pressure Plate on the right.

MT19
CLUTCH ROD Next to a rear axle failure, the MT19
clutch rod is probably the "most likely to fail" part on the car. If you've
broken one, we now have replacements. If yours has not failed yet, it probably
will. Carry a spare.

FOOT OPERATED CLUTCH MODIFICATION KIT - This kit
makes it very easy to install a foot operated cluth in an MT14. All that's
need is to cut a small hole in the side panel for the clutch shaft and bolt
it to the existing clutch mechanism. The original clutch lever can be retained
or removed at your discretion. Also included is a clutch pedal stop bracket.

FAIRMONT
FUEL & HOPPER CAPS - These are new production
and are just like the original. Be careful - these caps look almost alike,
but the fuel cap is vented and the hopper neck cap is not - don't mix them
up!

FAIRMONT
FUEL TANK & HOPPER TANK FILLER NECK - These
are new production and are just like the original. If you have a leaking
hopper filler and have already replaced the cap, the problem is probably
the neck. A radiator shop can solder these in place in a hopper or fuel
tank. Be sure the fuel tank has been properly cleaned out and made gas free
before applying heat.

AUTOMOTIVE
TYPE FUSE BLOCK
We've searched for these for many years and now have found a source for
these BUSS fuse blocks that use standard automotive style plug in fuses.
They are available in either 6 or 12 fuse capacities.
